Today's group CIE a mixture of Canadian and American visitors. Starting out at Holyrood, around the town and up to the castle. Heatwave today or at least high temperatures for Edinburgh.

Thursday 7th June 2018

Today - EF Students from Georgia. We started out from Pollock Halls student accommodation beside the Royal Commonwealth Pool - at this time of year they become tourist flats. Around the city, to the castle and of course their photo shoot in Holyrood Park. Amazed that this lot were still awake - they'd been out ceilidh dancing last night and early this morning some claimed to have climbed Athurs Seat (280 ft above sea level - did they ..... well they said so.

Tuesday 5th June 2018

An afternoon tour with Shearings group from England - a few of which proudly had Scottish connections. And, as good as the young ones this morning, went up the paths of Holyrood park for a better view. Couldn't miss the oportunity on such a lovely day.

Tuesday 5th June 2018

Busy day - Morning Group with EF students from Amenrica. Picking up part of the group at Edinburgh Airport having missed their plane yesterday. We made up for time and packed in a tour round the city , photo shoot in Holyrood Park and visit to the castle.

Sunday 3rd June 2018

A great afternoon with cruise passengers from the Royal Princess docked at South Queensferry. It had rained all mornng until we came out! We were so lucky, it even rained while we were on the coach into Edinburgh. But when we stopped - the rain stopped too - how lucky was that?A visit up to Edinburgh Castle and then as my old friend used to say 'aroon the toon'. Their crew member (young lady in woolly hat!) was extremely tired and took a chance of a cat nap whilst many stepped off for a photo shoot in Holyrood Park - I caught her -ha ha. Couldn't help it  - she looked so peaceful.

Saturday 12th May 2018

Doctors from Taiwan having a break from their conference in Glasgow. We took a wander around the buildings of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh Medical  School and Central University Campus, visit to Edinburgh Castle and then lunch at the Tower Restaurant at Chambers St.

Thursday 10th May 2018

Morning and afternoon tours round the City and visit o Edinburgh Castle with passengers from the Cruise Ship Royal Princess berthed at South Queesferry.

Monday 7th May 2018

Today an extended half day tour into a whole day. This group of Doctors from Vietnam had a right royal day. I joined them at their hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The sun shone all day and it was a good one. Starting at Edinburgh Castle and then into the Scotch Whisky Experience. A lot of interest and practice using the special 'nosing' glasses to get the best from their whisky tasting which is initially done with smell before they got to taste. . Down to Grassmarket for lunch at the Beehive Inn and then to the Palace of Holyrood House. Finally a quick bit of shopping before I waved them on their way to Glasgow for their next day's conference. Not bad for a working holiday...

Tuesday 1st May 2018

The start of the cruise ships today. Marco Polo arrived into the Port of Rosyth on the north side of the Firth of Forth. Visiting the City and Edinburgh Castle.

Friday 6th April 2018

Another fun EF group today from Canada and South America escorted by their tour director James. THe high road in Holyrood Park was open today (the road was a wee bit icy yesterday) so we managed a nice drive by Arthur seat before finishing our tour around the city and then up to the castle.

Thursday 5th April 2018

When I say 'three' shout 'whisky' for a nice smile. EF group visiting from Canada with Tour Director Umar, Yep,he's the one in the front with me, wearing shorts! Me? I'm wearing long johns under padded winter trousers. A fun morning with a coach tour around the city and visit to Edinburgh Castle.

Thursday 1st March 2018

They do say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb - let's see when the time comes... Edinburgh is on a 'Red' weather warning.  Don't think I remember such a thing. Amber yes but Red? No tranport -  public or private.

Today's group are from Indonesia and staying at the Doubletree Hotel in Bread St ( In days gone by it was St Cuthberts Store - Seon Connery did a milk round from the dairy at the back) Had to walk to the hotel to make contact and remake what they were going to do. Should have been a coach tour and visit to the castle. But the castle like everywhere else in the city was closed and no transport was running. So for those that were dressed appropriately and willing to brave it, I offerred to take them on a short walk up to the castle and surrounds. We followed on foot behind a snowplough and ventured up onto the castle esplanade - virgin snow and beautiful - photo shoot and selfies. We then skirted around the top of the Royal Mile and returned to their hotel. Very different but a lovely morning.
