Incentive tour and a day packed with visits. Heston and Aadi brought their top sales team for a visit to Edinburgh as part of their mini British Tour. Having left Abu Dhabi in the wee small hours and transfering at London Heathrow, I collected them at Edinburgh Airport at 9am. As soon as they had collected their luggage, we were off. Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, lunch at the Ku Kuri, Royal Yacht Britannia finishing with a tour at The Scotch Whisky Experience. A quick drop off at the hotel to check in and then back out again for their evening meal.I think some even hung out a bit later for Edinburgh Night Life! (Where do they get the energy?) Tomorrow 08.30, a visit through to the west and Loch Lomond and Glasgow. Sadly I won't be with them in Glasgow but I will enjoy a long lie in ! Fabby days.

What an incredible and fabulous day.

Sushanth and Shanab arrived from Abu Dhabi with their workers as a bonus incentive for their work in cheese sales.

06.35 met them at Edinburgh Airport and took them to the holiday Inn where they settled in, freshioned up and had breakfast.

10.00 and we were off. First of all a visit to the the castle. Ooh it was cold and windy but that didn't seem to matter. Cameras out and photos at every opportunity - something that continued throughout the day (imagine the film before digital!) Coach waitning and we were off to the Palace. Refuel stop at the Ku Khuri at the West End and then clock ticking, off to the Royal Yacht Britannia which I'm pretty sure was favourite of the day.. We visited it top to botttom. When we got to the Captains lounge some uniform hats and jackets had been left out and yes - we had a major dressing up session. Other visitors and staff were highly entertained and I think a wee bit jealous of all the fun that we were having. With minutes to spare we got to the Scotch  Whisky Experience for their last tour. A bit of tasting and Iron Bru for those who didn't wish to imbibe. Iron Bru - our other national drink! some say made from girders but actually just lots of sugar. Our nearest export to Pepsi and Coca Cola! What a day, I didn't really want to leave them but..... dropped them off in Lothian road for their evening meal. Hope they come back for more incentives - happy memories,

Probably about the last of the cruise ships for the year. The 'Norwegian Star' came into Newhaven Harbour with passengers from America, Australia, Mexico and France to visit my beautiful city. Time to give them a wee tour around the Old and New Towns with driver Paul from AAA coaches  (a pleasure to work with), of Edinburgh and a visit to the castle. A taster for their return journey!

Monday 28th September 2015

My fellow guide and friend Jane, asked me to join her party of German students for a walking tour around the city. Starting at Calton Hill, we split in two. My group walked  through Princes Street Gardens below the castle and into the Grassmarket and Greyfriars and the Royal Mile heading down Johnston Terrace, the original Western Approach Road to Edinburgh and met up again with the others at Charlotte Square ( the second square of the New Town of Edinburgh) They were a hungry bunch, so their packed lunch was eaten 'on the hoof' or maybe that was just to save carrying it!  I don't speak German, but the English spoken in my group was excellent - as Jean Brodie would have said 'la creme de la creme'. So no concessions made and I gave the stories of Burke and Hare and Graverobbers etc yes all the gory stuff.

Tuesday 20th October 2015

A perfect day for visiting Edinburgh -  a wee bit chilly but not too cold. A group of 22 from Hong Kong came today with their leader 'Mike' - he's the one crouching to take a photo. After lunch, a short coach tour to the castle and then a shopping spree in Romanes and Paterson for some Scottish Fare.

Monday 2nd November 2015

Driver Chaddy back in town with his coach party staying at Loch Achray. A great day - can't believe it's November! Smiles all round - that's how I like it.
